How We Started
Resolve GeoSciences began in 1997 under the direction of Don Robinson, founder of Oklahoma Seismic and co-creator of a popular 2D interpretation system called MIRA (Landmark Graphics acquired both in 1993).
Originally a software company, we marketed SeisShow as a versatile SEG-Y viewer and aid for data loaders. As research and demand grew in the industry for seismic attributes, we joined geophysical consortia and worked with topic experts to develop practical, commercial attribute solutions. This included expanding SeisShow to address the challenges encountered when preparing data for attribute computations and visualizing multiple volumes.
Today, we continue to develop software to empower users to take full advantage of their seismic data. Drawing on our experience of working with thousands of 3D seismic files, our latest efforts focus on providing SEG-Y analysis and QC tools to data managers looking to prepare SEG-Y for the cloud and enhance their on-premise library.

About Don Robinson
Founder of Resolve GeoSciences
Don Robinson has been involved with software development and seismic analysis for over 48 years. He entered the geophysical industry in 1973, working for Geo-Search Corporation in Midland, Texas, and Oklahoma City. In 1980 he founded Oklahoma Seismic Corporation in Oklahoma City. He co-developed the MIRA interpretation system, which was sold to Landmark Graphics in 1993. In 1996 he opened and managed the Houston office for Panther Technology from Calgary, Canada, emphasizing the loading and managing of seismic data. He established Resolve GeoSciences in 1997 and began the development of SeisShow for the analysis and display of SEGY seismic data. He continues to serve as President of Resolve GeoSciences. Don is a member of the SEG, AAPG, EAGE, and served as Secretary-Treasurer of the SEG in 1993-94.
